Location & Access
Yeojeol Oreum is easily accessible via Jeju’s reliable bus system. From Jeju City, take bus no. 201 or 202 and alight at the Namwon-eup stop. A short 10-minute walk through scenic rural paths brings you to the trailhead. The route is well-marked and suitable for most fitness levels.
The Hiking Experience
The trail to Yeojeol Oreum’s summit is approximately 1.5 kilometers round-trip, with a gentle incline that winds through lush grasslands and low volcanic rock. At the peak, you’ll be rewarded with 360-degree views of the southern coast, Mount Hallasan in the distance, and the turquoise waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Best Seasons to Visit
Spring (April–May) brings vibrant wildflowers and fresh green grass, while autumn (September–November) offers crisp air and golden hues. Early morning hikes provide a chance to witness mist drifting across the crater, creating a truly magical atmosphere.
